'Akala'
"Chinua Achebe can now rest with the other ancestors drinking palm wine in uwa mmuo. A worthy successor has arrived."
- Jerry Chiemeke
What is Akala?
Akala is a work of African surrealism that draws heavily on Igbo pre-colonial culture and belief system to tell the story of a people in a time now lost. Welcome to the adventure!
The story so far...
When the Pig-Men from the Western sea begin to usurp rulers in the costal regions of Afaraka, looting sacred objects and grabbing native land, one man must gift his son with the memory of where he comes from, so that he may remember - after he has forgotten.
